We had a fun-filled morning that ended with laughter. As we arrived at Habitat Creek in Huadu district, the most captivating attraction was undoubtedly the spices. After lunch, we began an exciting journey to discover the mystery of these aromatic ingredients.

First, we observed where the spices came from. These plants gave off pleasant aromas that were captivating. Students from Class 11 picked various types of plants, and each leaf had its own distinct aroma. Some smells were sweet and pleasant, while others were delightfully fragrant.

After selecting their desired leaves, the students, under the guidance of the tour guide, attempted to blow the colors, leaf patterns, and scents onto the fabric bags. After a series of tapping sounds, the bags were printed with green, brown, and red leaf veins, emitting a faint smell. The students also picked some leaves as souvenirs, and the imprinted fabric bags came in handy.

After imprinting the fabric bags, the students went on to make scented sachets. There, they learned about common fragrant ingredients, their benefits, and the basic methods of combining them in sachets. Each person had his or her own recipe and purpose in mind. After the teacher explained, the students eagerly started making their own sachets.

Some students used the recipes and suggestions provided by the teacher to make their scented sachets, while others chose different fragrant ingredients based on their own understanding. In the end, each person successfully prepared his or her own sachets. Some students even made two sachets. Most of the sachets were intended for repelling mosquitoes, soothing the mind, refreshing and invigorating, harmonizing the body, and preventing colds. Everyone gained a lot from the experience.

The students also gained knowledge about ancient methods of making fragrances. The "Fragrant Garden" activity allowed everyone to experience the profound and extensive nature of traditional Chinese culture. Fragrant ingredients such as lemongrass, jasmine, and patchouli left a lasting impression on everyone. The different benefits and uses of these fragrances once again highlighted the richness and diversity of Chinese traditional culture. The students are already eager to participate in the next field trip activity.
