My Dream 高二(1)班 尹骞 There is a dream deeply rooted in all peace-loving people. It’s a dream that the world becomes a peaceful and beautiful place with no war, hunger or depression, and with no pollution or radiation. It’s a dream that the world becomes a comfortable place with modern technology providing all convenience. It’s a dream that the world becomes a lovely and free place where people are all kind and everyone has a chance to chase his dream. It’s a dream that will come true only when everyone strives towards it. I have my own dream, too. I dreamed of being a traveler in my childhood, when I was so attracted by the beauty of the world. As a little girl, I thirstily sought for books and photos that presented me an imaginary world of distant lands. And then I dropped myself into the boundless dream that someday I would be galloping like a cowboy across the broad plain in Western America, or traipsing down a narrow street surrounded by archaic houses of middle ages in a nameless European town. But things changed as I grew up and learned more about the world. I realized that I had only admired the strong vitality of the rainforests in Amazon but hadn’t known that the forests and their creatures are suffering from severe destruction. I had only praised the virgin landscapes and people’s natural way of living in Tibet but had ignored the bitterness brought by poverty. I had only appreciated the magnificence and wildness of the savanna in Africa but had been unaware of people’s arduous life there because of the deadly diseases. The dream I had had then seemed an image of innocence. And I still have my dream now. I dream of being a traveler, who will not only discover the niceness but also record the viciousness with a camera and a pen. It will be my mission to let people know that, how many of their kind are still suffering from poverty, diseases or unfairness, and how serious their home, the earth is being damaged. It will be my mission to call on people to take action to make the world a better place. This is the way I choose to protect the beauty of the world, without which man can never have a dream again. I have a dream 高二(1)班 何洁芸 When just a little girl, I always spent one or two hours sitting on the sofa, observing mother dealing with a lot of papers piled up in the office. I wish that I could become a businesswoman as smart as mother one day. As time goes by, however, I realize that I can get more happiness and satisfaction when reading and learning different kinds of cultures in the world rather than handling the boring papers and the troublesome calls. I dream that I can travel around the world to experience varieties of cultures and customs created by people of different nations and religions. What’s more, I hope that I can introduce the traditional Chinese art to the whole world as much as I can. Will my dream come true? The answer is unknown except for one thing—I will never change my mind and I will go towards my dream step by step. My Dream 高二(1)班 朱静远 Do you have a dream? A romantic one, a seemingly improbable one ,or just a realistic one? Yes, everyone possesses a dream whoever they are. Some people desire to have a peaceful world which will be loaded with harmony, equality and democracy. Some crave for a world so free from severe pollution and dangerous radiation that all the animals could be leading a comfortable life in nature. Some long for a world of technology where we human beings will be in a high level of convenience brought out by modern scientific researches. Some yearn for a world in a free condition in which everyone won’t need to carry the burden of poverty. These pictures described are extremely loaded with joy and gay. However, quite a large number of people expect to get jobs that can earn untold money, or to purchase huge valuable houses, with enormous sums of servants in it, and even wish to marry to handsome guys or beautiful women. I do have dreams. I can clearly remember that I, as a child, held a hope to be a teacher of primary school for the reason that a teacher of primary school, in my eye, was the most capable person and could manage everything I was unable to do. At that time, I even regarded them as my idols because of their intelligence. As the years pass, I grow more mature, meanwhile my dream alters radically, since teaching is such an insurmountable task as requires knowledge, patience, prudence and composure. I admit that I don’t meet the requirement at all. Actually, what I invariably hope to do is to go around the world and assist the people with love and sincerity. For example, AIDS, which is incurable, spreads mortally worldwide, especially in Africa. A great number of poor children are born to be infected by the disease inherited can’t weigh heavily to prevent the children from being infected. As a result, they can’t afford to go to school to obtain knowledge as we do because of poverty, they can’t enjoy the pleasure of childhood as we did with piles of dolls and toys. What accompanies them all the time is the mutilated house, the barefoot, the hunger, the thirsty, and of course, the AIDS. What a miserable picture it is! I have the dream that I am able to help them, as a voluntary teacher to spread the medical knowledge and to aid the sick. I have the dream that when I come back China, I will have the chance to announce my experiences to the Chinese and assist in the prevention from AIDS for the reason that now most Chinese feel ashamed of AIDS. What’s worse, the affected ones dare not to speak it out and avoid being cured for the fear that they will be laughed at and looked down upon. All the citizens should help them and encourage them genuinely to receive medical treatment. The nature of the actions is to spread love and care to every corner of the world which are rare as the society develops and the wealth grows. I pursue a belief that love, care and unity will forever prevail over oppression, poverty and discrimination from era to era. What inspires me to have this dream is the story of Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa, who was eminent for taking up the Nobel Prize for her charity, did much to save and care the orphans, the patients who were financially poor and couldn’t afford the fee of going to hospital. She set up a hospice for the patients for free. She even once settled down in Calcutta to visit the poor in slum and to teach them voluntarily. I may not do as much as she did , yet it’s better than nothing. I will study more medical knowledge and work harder to enter a famous university so as to get the permission to be a volunteer in Africa and attempt to do all that I can to spread love and warmth everywhere. Finally I want to end up the speech with a sentence of Mother Teresa, that is: love is much needed than bread and water. ( 武艳老师 推荐 )
